Graphics and doll: 4 villages of Greece stopped time

On the one hand, there are those villages that try to show off their most "modern" side by renouncing the traditional cafes and renovating their guest houses and on the other, there are those small villages as if they were stopped over time, they keep intact their authenticity as if they were in another decade.

Hidden in the depths of Taygetos, the medieval village of Koumousta is forgotten. Where once 2,000 people lived, now only two live. But they have the pleasure and luck of facing stone-made cobblestone paths that go up through stone houses, marble fountains and Byzantine churches. The route to the forgotten village of Taygetos is the same-if not more-spectacular with the scenery you meet there.

Melissourgi, Tzoumerka

All Tzoumerka is definitely stopped in time. Melissourgos is just one of their most "virgin", decorative villages. Built entirely of stone and wood, it offers panoramic views of surrounding landscapes, as if they have sprung from a fairy tale page. It's large, a stone-built square that looks like a giant balcony hanging on the edge of the cliff and hosts a lush café and a tavern serving local delicacies. Above the square dominates the church of Agios Nikolaos, which attracts you with the successive arches that decorate the gallery's courtyard.

Kastanitsa, Parnonas

Stone houses look for the light of day somewhere between the golden-red leaves of chestnut trees around them. The slabs on the rooftops, with this caffeirish color, look like Epirotic - they are not, however: they are made of the famous slate of Malevos, as is otherwise called Parnonas. Wooden balconies and traditional mansions that carry three centuries of life complete the picture. Perhaps, without exaggeration, the most picturesque village of Parnonas, Kastanica is almost secret in the depths of its canyons.

Puri, Pelion

A few kilometers from the famous Zagora, Puri stands over the waves of Chorethos. Do not hesitate to climb the stairs of the central square that spreads amphitheatrically in three levels to the highest point, to look up from above the endless blue of the Aegean Sea on the one hand and the mountain on the other and in the middle a few stone houses with chimneys. Going down, take a stop at the impromptu shop - ceramic exhibition to look for unique creations.
