Possidi Chalkidiki: The only Greek beach that changes shape and.... disappears

There, in antiquity, there was an ancient settlement. Certain findings of the ancient Mendes that are reported by Thucydides as a colony of Eretria in the 8th century BC have been certified. There is also a monument and temple of Poseidon that was excavated during the period 1990-1994.

Just across the Sani peninsula, overlooking Thermaikos and just 4.5 nautical miles from Pelion, the sandy peninsula of Posidio spans.

It is a land of tongue, covered in winter by the turbulent waters of Thermaikos and lost in the waves, while in the summer that calm and recede the waters, a blonde peninsula emerges.

Its length is 10 km and depending on the winter weather, it opens up in the summer. Always in a different shape!

Sometimes straight spear, sometimes sickle-shaped and sometimes sigmoid.

To her right and left are two magnificent beaches, with white sand and turquoise crystal clear waters.

Here, when the grub blows, one beach is shaking and the other calm.

The width of the peninsula is from 1 km to 50 meters and gives the swimmer the opportunity to move with the air as a migratory bird from one beach to another.

The weather in Possidi is great. Every afternoon the waters are drawn away and the peninsula spreads and in the morning a small tidal wave rains it again.

In the day you are enjoying the crystal clear sea and the games of the sun in the white sand and in the afternoon there is a magnificent sunset, one of the most beautiful in Greece, with the sun losing behind Olympus and the sea being painted in the colors of the sky.
